Itinerary

Lake Challa is a crater lake located on the border of Kenya and Tanzania. It is about an hour drive from Moshi and is a great location for a day trip or an overnight camp. The hike begins at the rim of the crater, looking down on the beautiful lake. You will hike for 45 minutes through savannah woodlands to the lake. Imagine spending the day swimming in the lake and relaxing on the shore before you head back to the crater walls. During certain times of the year, you can see families of elephants, monkeys, and baboons from the deck, as the drink out of watering holes which are very close to the lake. There is a beautiful campsite at Lake Challa with a campfire, cooking facilities, and a bar.
