ITINERARY FOR SHIRA ROUTE KILIMANJARO CATHEDRAL POINT DAY HIKE
Plan on an early morning adventure from your hotel in Moshi/Arusha, driving to the west side of Kilimanjaro.
Traverse the lush agricultural landscape at the mountain's foothills, reaching the Londorosi gate after necessary check-ins. The journey then leads you through the native montane rainforest, a habitat for diverse wildlife and birds. Guided by an experienced team of guides, rangers, and drivers, be on the lookout for colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, velvet monkeys, and a variety of bird species.
Proceed to the Murum Barrier at 3400m, the starting point for the trek to Cathedral Point Summit.
The 3-hour hike unfolds with panoramic views of the Shira Plateau, the majestic peak of Kilimanjaro, and ultimately, the summit of Shira Cathedral.
