Itinerary
In Tanzania, coffee is one of the largest export goods that is shipped worldwide. Even before Tanzania became independent, farmers have been harvesting Arabica coffee on the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Most of the coffee farms present in Northern Tanzania are small-scale family farms. Kili Trips Tanzania gives you the opportunity to visit small-scale family run coffee farms on the foothills of Kilimanjaro. You can spend a day learning how coffee is made from experts, speak with local farmers who have dedicated their lives to growing coffee, and enjoy freshly brewed coffee from generations of the best coffee internationally.
During the coffee tour, you can take a detour and hike to the gorgeous Materuni waterfalls. You will have an opportunity to walk through coffee fields and see the ways of the local Chagga people first hand. The Materuni waterfalls are some of the most spectacular waterfalls in the Kilimanjaro region. The weather allows, you can bring your bathing suit and go for a dip in the cool waterfall pool.
